Insurances
Koala Nursing Agency provides insurance for all its nurses including Professional Indemnity, Public Liability and Work cover.
Criminal Record Check
In Australia, it is a requirement when working in public health facilities to have a criminal record screening check.
Training
Ongoing professional development is very important to Koala Nursing Agency. All our staff are encouraged to participate in ongoing education courses, and where possible Koala Nursing Agency will facilitate this process. It is a requirement for nurses to maintain 12 month updates on their manual handling and CPR competencies.
Handy Hints
If you plan to travel around Australia, it is useful to obtain a pre paid mobile phone for ease of communication. Currently the Telatra Next G network phones are the way to go with extensive coverage throughout rural/city Australia.

Professional Conduct
All nurses working for Koala Nursing Agency are asked and required to abide by the Australia Nursing and Midwifery Councils Code of Conduct and standards of Practice. Details of these standards can be seen on www.anmc.org.au.
Tax File number
To apply for a Tax file number simply go to the Australian Taxation Office web site www.ato.gov.au. Failure to obtain one, can lead to the employee being taxed at a much higher marginal rate. In Australia all employees must have a Tax file number (TFN), which is an Australian Government requirement.

Banking Details
Australia banking facilities are well organised and structured, with you having 24 hours a day 7 days a week access via Electronic (EFTpos) and Automatic Teller machine (ATM) services. To open a bank account in Australia, you will need to provide identification, primarily a passport and/or drivers licence plus one other form of identification. The four large banks in Australia are ANZ (Australia New Zealand), CBA (Commonwealth Bank of Australia), NAB (National Bank of Australia) and Westpac. Along with these, other banking institutions are also available.
